38-year-old Jay Davidson took to social media to stir up religious hatred by posing topless with a shotgun, alongside anti-Muslim captions.
Davidson urged people to “stand up” via Instagram comments and WhatsApp messages.
Prosecutor Jennifer Josephs said “These posts were extremely offensive. He was using language that you normally associate with white supremacists”.
During his trial, Davison denied the charges and said the pictures were a result of an evening of drinking.
He claimed to have no racist views and did not mean to spew hatred.

"It was terrible judgment on my behalf and I should not have posted it," he said.
"It was a drunken stupidity. When I am sober I am a completely different person."
Defendant Hashim Salman said, “He [Davidson] is disgusted and embarrassed with himself.”
Judge Tracey-Lloyd said, “The manner and way you behaved reveals something of your inner thoughts and for you then to take a photo of yourself holding a firearm makes this a matter so serious only an immediate custodial sentence is appropriate."
In 2018 too, the accused posted “extremely offensive” messages, according to Cardiff Crown Court.
