Unknown miscreants kept an improvised explosive device (IED) concealed inside socks near Sher Jan bus stop

QUETTA: The law enforcement agencies (LEAs) in two different actions foiled terrorism attempts in Balochistan`s Turbat district and the provincial capital Quetta.

According to police, unknown miscreants kept an improvised explosive device (IED) concealed inside socks near Sher Jan bus stop. A local shopkeeper saw a suspicious object and informed the police.

On receiving information, the police reached the site and cordoned off the area and called the bomb disposal squad. The bomb was defused on the spot.

As per the bomb disposal unit, an explosive device weighing a half-pound was planted for terrorist activities.

Earlier, on 23rd July, at least four people were killed and other forty-two were wounded in an IED blast in the same area.

Similarly, acting on a tip-off, security forces conducted a targeted operation in Ziarati Bazar of Hilingor in Turbat district.
