Murder: 2 sisters killed over marriage dispute

FAISALABAD: Two real sisters were shot dead while they were sleeping on Saturday.  According to police officials, the sisters were killed over a marriage dispute in Chak No275 RB Kartar Pur, in the Dijkot Police Station precincts.  Kalsoom’s marriage was solemnized with Muhammad Aslam of Gogra seven years ago and her marriage ceremony was schedule to be held on Sunday, July 10. However, Salmat, Kalsoom’s sister-in-law and her cousin Muhammad Boota opposed sending the girl with her in-laws.  Kalsoom was asleep when Muhammad Boota, Zafar Iqbal and three unknown assailants opened indiscriminate fire on the family. Kalsoom and her elder sister Khursheed died on the spot. Police have registered a case against the accused and started an investigation after arresting Mohammad Boota and Zafar Iqbal.
