‘Funds allocated for filtration plants’

‘Comprehensive plan evolved to ensure availability of essentials’.

Minister for Labour Welfare Haji Ehsaanud Din Qureshi said on Saturday a comprehensive strategy had been evolved to ensure that daily use items were available to citizens. He said Rs2 billion had been allocated for installation of water filtration plant and Rs12 billion for development schemes identified by local governments. He said Rs3 billion of the funds allocated for development schemes would be spent on the construction of link roads.


Talking to various delegations at his residence on Saturday, Qureshi said the government had allocated Rs42.3 billion to upgrade healthcare facilities in the province. He said Rs2.42 billion would be spent on improving facilities in the social security hospitals in the province.

He said dispensaries working under the Social Security Department would be upgraded at a cost of Rs1.134 billion. These measures would help improve provision of healthcare facilities for labourers and their families.

He said the preventive healthcare programmes underway in the province would continue to protect children from disease. The government would soon install incinerators in all public hospitals in the province.
