LAC starts series to celebrate national icons

This initiative was taken on the directives of Chairperson BOG Lahore Moneeza Hashmi who was present at the event

LAHORE: The Lahore Arts Council has started a new initiative with a session titled ‘Kuch Yaadain Kuch Batain’ at which great singers like Suraiya Multanikar and Rahat Multanikar spoke about their career and experiences.

The new series is the first programme of its kind for which Alhamra will invite celebrities from arts and culture for monthly sessions.

This initiative was taken on the directives of Chairperson BOG Lahore Moneeza Hashmi who was present at the event. In the first episode of the series, Suraiya Multani and her daughter shared their life experiences and their musical journey to the audience. Renowned singer Rahat Multanikar also performed in the programme.

Speaking on the occasion, LAC Director Ather Ali Khan said that Suraiya Multanikar is her own example. She is the reference and a true representation of Pakistan for her services in the field of music. Khan added that this series is an important step towards remembering Pakistan’s national icons.
