Chinese envoy says the step will further boost China’s economic relations with Pakistan

PESHAWAR: China has decided to open a visa office in Peshawar to further strengthen ties with Pakistan.

Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Chinese Ambassador Yao Jing said that the step will help further boost China’s economic relations with Pakistan.

He said the first small economic zone of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in Rashakai will strengthen trade and cultural ties through joint ventures and exchange of delegations, adding that it will be made operational this year.

In response to a question regarding Kashmir, Yao said that China supported Prime Minister Imran Khan’s stance stressed that unilateral action to change the special status of the occupied valley will not be acceptable.

The Chinese envoy also underscored the need for resolving the Kashmir dispute through peaceful dialogue.
