Farewell dinner in honour of BHC CJ

Justice Mandokhail to replace the outgoing chief justice, and will be sworn in on Oct 5

QUETTA: A farewell dinner was organised in honour of Chief Justice of Balochistan High Court Justice Syeda Tahira Safdar. She is the first female chief justice of the BHC. Judges of Balochistan High Court and district courts also attended the farewell dinner. Outgoing chief justice also addressed on the occasion and said that this was a farewell meeting, adding that the journey was coming to an end. She said that there were a lot of pleasant memories throughout her service.  Apart from being the first female chief justice of the Balochistan High Court, in 1982, Tahira Safdar also became the first woman civil judge in Balochistan and was later promoted to district and sessions judge. Justice Mandokhail will replace the outgoing chief justice and will be sworn in on Oct 5, after Tahira Safdar’s retirement on Oct 4.
