Let us work for peace

Actions such as forced religious conversion and attacking temples vitiate the peaceful atmosphere of the country

JOHI: Sindh is known for its unique hospitality and culture. Amazingly, the term used in many history books to describe Sindh is “The land of Peace”. The province is always welcoming of foreign people and the generosity with guests is remarkable. The people in Sindh love having guests over and are very hospitable.

Generally, Sindh is considered as a peaceful land with multi-religious faiths as residents respect each other’s religious and cultural values. However, nowadays various concerns have been reported in which religious conversion and blasphemy are at its peak. A few days ago, a student of a private School posted something on Facebook in which he accused the principal of blasphemy. Just the next day, some people attacked the school and damaged the infrastructure and furniture. Later on, they attacked a Hindu temple. Such actions vitiate the peaceful atmosphere in the country.

Authorities should strictly enforce the law and people who are involved in breaking the law should be punished through proper investigation in order to maintain peace and harmony in the country.
