Different facets of life depicted through images

35 photographs depicting personal encounters on the journey of life on display at Tehzeeb.

ISLAMABAD:

An exhibition featuring 35 photographs capturing “personal encounters on the journey of life” opened here at the Tehzeeb gallery on Thursday night.

A large number of people showed up at the opening event to look at the photographs by Mickey and Money. The exhibition’s focus is on earthquake victims, portraits and sceneries.

Kaleem Ashan, commonly known as Mickey and a journalist by profession, has a passion for photography. He has been taking pictures since he was seven years old and is also a model. Talking to The Express Tribune, Mickey said it was his second exhibition after a period of seven years.

“As it is my first exhibition in the capital I have tried to display the best of my collection from the last six to seven years,” he said.  Mickey added that he has tried to draw comparisons between different segments of the society through his photographs which have been taken from different cities including Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad.

He said, “The rich do not understand the poor man’s dilemmas so I have tried to convey the message through these photographs.”

Anoosa, a visitor, said, “I enjoyed viewing the collection, especially the photos of innocent young boys.”

Sheryar, another visitor who had come from Rawalpindi, said, “Even though the photos are less in number they are [nice], especially the images of the young and old are breathtaking.”

The photo exhibition will continue till end of July.
