After ample social media hate against Malala Yousafzai for her silence on the Kashmir issue, the Nobel Peace prize winner has finally decided to respond.
PHOTO: FILEIn her recent Twitter thread, she started off by clarifying that she has spent her last week, speaking with the people living and working in Indian occupied Kashmir (IoK), including journalists, human rights lawyers and students.

"I wanted to hear directly from girls living in Kashmir right now. It took a lot of work from a lot of people to get their stories because of the communications blackout. Kashmiris are cut off from the world and unable to make their voices heard." said Malala.
Her thread progressed with the information she gathered as she began to quote the Kashmiri girls who have not attended school in 40 days. She continued to add that there were three girls who told her that the situation in Kashmir is utterly silent.
The first said that there was no way of finding out what goes on outside of people's houses and all they can hear are footsteps of soldiers who are willing to capture anyone.
According to her, the second girl claimed to be depressed because she could not go to school and missed her exams, depicting the unfortunate state of children who have had their future plans forsaken.
The third explained how the people speaking out against Indian atrocities in Kashmir have given hope to its people, however, she longs for the day when her land will be free of political agendas and disputes.

PHOTO COURTESY: MALALA FUNDThe 22-year-old girls' education and women's equality representative expressed deep concern for the 4000 people in Indian occupied Kashmir. She sympathised with the children who have been arbitrarily arrested and imprisoned, as well as the girls who are afraid to leave their homes to attend school.
Aside from from the earlier criticism directed towards her for remaining silent, Malala's recent posts received criticism from surplus Indian users who began to call her a hypocrite for not mentioning the injustice faced by the minorities in Pakistan.

Where one user believed that she needs to talk about the injustice in Sindh, another claimed she suffers from chronic astigmatism as she cannot see the plight of people in Balochistan.

Since years they are protesting for their rights but she sympathizes with Kashmirs
One even pointed out that Malala addressed the communication blackout but failed to address how she got through to the girls she quoted.
