Electricity Woes: No power at DMC hostel

DMC Hostel along Nishtar Road have been without power for 3 days due to technical faults in the area's transformer

KARACHI: The city government workers' DMC Hostel and other areas along Nishtar Road have been without power for three days due to technical faults in the area's transformer. The frustrated residents took to streets on Thursday night and marched down Civil hospital road, Urdu University Road and Abdul Haq Campus, burning tyres to vent their anger. They dispersed when the police arrived and assured them that their power would be put back on. They claimed that KESC's complaint centre staff was not attending their complaints. They threatened to surround the KESC office if their electricity was not restored.
