Who are issued explanation calls and memos for telling the truth about organisational chaos
ISLAMABAD: Reportedly, the whistle-blowers, the truth-tellers and moralists working with various public-sector organisations are being put in a fix. Their career progression files are being spoiled. For no plausible reason, they are issued explanation calls and in some cases, issued memos for telling the truth about organisational chaos, laid-back attitude and inordinate delays of a few officers in the good books of people in authority.
When these authority persons are reminded that selective and partial justice is not justice, and we must promote justice and equality for all as enshrined and guaranteed by the constitution of Pakistan, those in authority lose patience. In a few public-sector organisations, authority figures and also those whom they have requisitioned on deputation are doing terrible things in an organised and systematic way. They are defeating the very spirit of justice and are shaking the very foundations of those organisations because when there is effective management at the top and no judicious utilisation of resources, organisations are destined to doom and then regular employees suffer.
In this dismal situation of injustice, may I remind you of a thought-provoking dialogue from a famous movie “The Lion King” in which Mufasa, the King of the Pride Lands and ruler of Pride Rock, advises his only son, Simba, ”You are a King! You have to protect everybody where the light touches?” Those at the apex positions are humbly requested to shield and shelter those officers who are being persecuted for telling the truth.
