300 swimmers from 35 educational institutes are participating in the event

McDonald’s Inter School Age Group Swimming Championship is underway in Lahore.

Azlan Shah outshone others after a spectacular performance, bagging three gold medals. The extraordinary display by swimmers forecasts a bright future for swimming in Pakistan.

300 swimmers from 35 educational institutes are participating in the national event. On the first day, 23 competitions were decided and Azlan Shah from GCU Lahore showed dominance as he bagged three gold medals and completed a hat-trick by winning 200m individual medley race, 50m Butterfly, 100m Freestyle in Super boys category.

In 200m Medlay  U-16 Zeshan Abbas, in U-14 Danial Ghulam Nabi, in U-12 Mehad Sadiq were successful. In 100m Freestyle U-16 Adeel Rauf, in 50m Backstroke U-16 Addullah Ashfaq, U-14 Asfandyar Sherdil, 50m Freestyle Aman Khawer, 50m Butterfly U-10 Abdullah Bashir, 100m Backstroke Zain Yonus, 100m Freestyle U-14 Ibrahim Rasheed, 50m Freestyle U-10 Alian Khawer, 50m Backstroke U-8 M Husnain Rauf, 100m Breaststroke U-14 Danial Ghani and in U-16 Zeshan Abbas were victorious. Swimming2

Participants praised the event held at junior level and expressed their desire for more opportunities in the future. The competitions are ongoing and further 23 competitions will be decided next, including the category of 50m Freestyle of Special persons.
