ISLAMABAD: Faculty members of the COMSATS University in Islamabad on Friday showcased their artistic representation of the federal capital in a group exhibition of mixed media art which opened at the varsity.

The group exhibition, titled "Mera Shehar" (my city) was inaugurated by Architects Regional Council Asia (ARCASIA) former president Rita Soh.

Soh appreciated the work done by all artists and encouraged them to express their views by showcasing their work and showing the audience their perception of the federal capital.

The ARCASIA former president congratulated COMSATS University for putting the exhibition together, noting that such platforms should be provided to artists across the country to express their thought and vision.

The show, at the COMSATS Art Gallery, displayed artworks of faculty members from the Architecture Department including Amna Hashmi, Dr Shahida Mansoor, Dr Tabasum Shaheen, Meezan Ali Mir, Waqas O Khel. Some independent artists such as Ahmad Habib, Aimon Saima Salahuddin, Dr Suriyya Choudhary, Maryam Saif, Meharbano Khattak, Raheela Mushtaq, and Sohaina Elia.

The artworks include mix media canvases, graphic prints, miniature paintings, photography, oil paintings, and manual graphics.
