PTI MPA seeks justice for Model Town families

It was necessary to bring them to the dock for the sake of the families which lost loved ones in the carnage

LAHORE: A PTI lawmaker has submitted a resolution in the Punjab Assembly, demanding that the government provide justice to the families whose members were slain in the Model Town massacre.

MPA Musarat Jamshaid Cheema submitted that the alleged culprits of the Model Town massacre were moving freely and there was nobody to hold them accountable. She found it astonishing that the law had failed to bring the culprits to justice, despite the report of Justice Ali Baqar Najafi being made public.

She said it was necessary to bring them to the dock for the sake of the families which lost loved ones in the Model Town carnage.

Talking to The Express Tribune, she said the victim's families should be given justice on a war-footing basis. When asked for the reasons that the government had failed to provide justice to the victims to date, the MPA said it was inconsequential who was in power.
