SL players’ apprehensions

Letter September 15, 2019
Professional talent is slowly diminishing even though there is a lot of it

TURBAT: It is sad to hear that the Sri Lankan team’s most senior players have refused to visit Pakistan because of security issues despite the fact that there has been notable improvement in the security situation in recent years. As we know that PSL is a big national T20 event. In this tournament, important foreign players have been taking part in order to help promote the franchise and regional cricket. Professional talent is slowly diminishing even though there is a lot of it. We need to motivate our regional players and encourage them to play. This will only happen if the PSL franchise promotes cricket. We somehow need to convince not only the Sri Lankans but also the rest of the cricket playing nations to come and play.
