Football: Adebayor blasts City after snub

MANCHESTER: Emmanuel Adebayor has launched a tirade against Manchester City bosses, accusing them of not having the courage to formally explain that he is not wanted. After expecting to link up with manager Roberto Mancini and the rest of his squad for pre-season, the 27-year-old now claims he has been omitted from the club’s tour of the US. He said in The Sun, “No-one at City is man enough to speak to me face-to-face to explain. I just received an email from football director Brian Marwood’s secretary, telling me to report for training today. When I spoke to the other players, I found out the first team left for the USA pre-season tour yesterday,” complained Adebayor.
