RAWALPINDI: Ministry of Forest has set revenue target of Rs100 million for Rawalpindi timber division.

The revenue target was Rs10 million higher than last year, Divisional Forest Officer Ashfaq Basheer Bhutta told The Express Tribune.

He said that revenue was generated by auctioning old and fallen trees in different forests including Murree, Kotli Satyan, Kahuta, Karur, Panjar, Kalar Syedan and Lower Topa.

Bhutta said that they generated Rs160 million last year against target of Rs90 million and expressed hope that division would achieve more than its target in the current year too.

Bhutta said they would organise open auction of timber on 10 and 26 of every month from next month in Sahala timber depot.
