His debut film Manto earned significant appreciation and gained critical as well as commercial acclaim worldwide. While Sarmad's latest outing Zindagi Tamasha has been cleared by the central and provincial censor boards, it's official release date has not been announced.
The film stars Arif Hassan, Samiya Mumtaz, Ali Kureishi and Eman Suleman. Sarmad will also make a special appearance on screen and majority of the film is shot in Punjabi.
Renowned actor Saba Qamar also appreciated the director for his work. Sarmad featured the starlet in Manto and Pani Jaisa Piyar.
She congratulated Sarmad for his film being chosen for the Busan Film Festival. Saba wrote, "Sarmad you are more like a family than a friend and I am super proud of you that you don’t make movies to make money."
Reiterating the film-maker's inclination towards creativity without paying heed to financial incentives, the Baaghi actor added, "You make movies to contribute into the industry and you make them with your heart and soul."
