Ministry notifies hike in rent of govt lodges

These places have the status of touring lodges where government officers reside temporarily

ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Housing has increased the rent of federal lodges and hostels by up to Rs1,500 whereas rent of accommodations in Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, and Quetta have also gone up.

Rent for non-entitled government officers has been increased by up to 50 per cent. The charges of a single room for Qasar-e-Naz in Karachi have shot up by Rs750, while there is a surge of Rs1500 in rent of the family room.

The rent of single room at federal lodges in Peshawar has gone up by Rs500 and that of the family room by Rs1,000. The rent of Quetta lodge’s single room has been increased by Rs500, while for a family room there is a hike of Rs500. For non-entitled government officers, there is an increase of 50%.

These places have the status of touring lodges where government officers reside temporarily. The notification of the increase in rent has been issued by the Ministry of Housing and Construction.
