Politics at workplace

Published: September 8, 2019

One of the bitter truths about our work culture is that we indulge in a lot of politics. In our society, people believe that the only skill they need to possess in order to attain higher positions is to put other people down. Recently I worked in an educational institution headed by Pakistan’s big names who have served in several government organisations, yet the politics I have observed were one of the worst in my entire career. Despicable games of character assassination to religious bias were played in front of my eyes. The one thing that disappoints me is how a man or a woman can stoop to such levels? I believe with every little evil deed we do to other human beings we keep losing a part of our self and a part of the connection between us and God. Furthermore, the effort required to attain success is much less hectic than continually planning and forcing your mind and soul into doing something evil. I believe the people who get involved in such deeds don’t trust their capabilities and have no faith in God. I wish one day our education system will be strong enough to cure such kinds of mindsets so that this negativity could be eliminated from our society and a healthy work environment will be restored.
