CM Sindh to announce budget today

The budget for Sindh 2010-11 is set to be announced by Sindh Chief Minister on Friday in the provincial assembly.

KARACHI: The budget for Sindh 2010-11 is set to be announced by Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah on Friday in the provincial assembly.

The Sindh budget boasts to eradicate poverty in interior Sindh, empower women and to increase infrastructure development through public private partnership.

Sindh budget is of Rs422 billion with a revenue collection target of Rs397 billion.

Development gets a Rs115 billion in the budget. Rs6.3 billion have been allotted to the health sector. Peasants will be alloted agriculture land along with 5,000 tractors and tubewells on easy installments.

The budget will also focus on free training to 80,000 students supported by funding from the US. No new taxes have been mentioned in the provincial budget.
