During a meeting presided over by NAB Chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal, the board also gave the nod to launching 12 inquiries against former federal minister Babar Ghouri, Senator Kalsoom Perveen, Sindh MPA Syed Owais Shah, former Sindh MPA Saeed Khan Nizamani and former Punjab MPA Qaiser Abbas Magsi among others.
The second reference will be filed against Irfan Khalil Qureshi, a former Pakistan State Oil managing director, for signing illegal contracts with private companies.
Court summons more witnesses in case against Memon
The third reference will be filed against Abdul Hameed for illegally awarding construction contracts.
The board approved the closure of inquiries against the administrative officers of the Punjab institute of Cardiology and Punjab Minerals Company.
A case against Pakistan Medical and Dental Council officers will be forwarded to the regulatory body itself for further action.
A case against Multan Electric Power Company officers will be sent to the energy ministry.
Similarly, cases against former Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa chief secretary Amjad Ali and other will be forwarded to the incumbent K-P chief secretary.
The K-P Anti-Corruption Establishment will handle a case against Khyber Teaching Hospital Peshawar officers.
The board decided to close inquiries against former acting chairman of the Competition Commission of Pakistan Dr Joseph Wilson, Rana Mustafa Yusuf and Jam Ghulam Qadir Dharejo.
The NAB chairman said that anti-corruption watchdog had recovered Rs71 billion in the past 22 months.
