Lady health worker killed in Peshawar

Two armed men attacked her vehicle

PESHAWAR: A lady health worker was killed when unidentified armed men riding on a motorbike fired on her car in the Pishtakhara area of Peshawar on Thursday. The attack proved fatal for the health worker who died on the spot while the suspects managed to flee.

Abid Hussain, a resident of Pishtakhara, told the police that his wife Shazia — who works for a private health foundation — was heading to work on Thursday morning.

Near a compressed natural gas (CNG) filling station on Ring Road when her vehicle was attacked by two armed men riding on a motorbike.

The Pishtakhara police said that they had taken the body into custody and shifted it to a hospital for post-mortem. Moreover, they said that a team collected evidence from the site of the attack as a case was registered for the incident.
