LAHORE: Provincial Minister for Human Rights and Minority Affairs Ijaz Alam Augustine took notice of the incident regarding the torture of Amir Masih by police officials in Gujjarpura.

The minister visited the home of the deceased and met with the family of Amir. The deceased’s father told the human rights minister that Amir was arrested over charges of street crime. He was taken to an undisclosed location, where he was reportedly tortured.

On September 2, two unidentified officers dropped Amir outside a hospital, who was suffering from serious injuries. He was taken to the Services Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The minister assured the deceased’s family that justice will be served at any cost and ordered police officials to register a case against the investigation officer and other officers involved in the incident.
