Acid Assault: Woman burnt for rejecting proposal

KHANEWAL: A woman was hospitalised with severe burn injuries after a man whose marriage proposal had been declined by her family threw acid on her on Wednesday. 22-year-old Sakina, resident of Colony No3, was has lost an eye, according to doctors who treated her at Nishter Hospital. Sakina’s father, Din Muhammad, had refused to marry her daughter to a relative, Muzammil. Following rejection, Muzammil threw acid on the woman, burning her face and chest. Khanewal city police have registered a case and started investigation.

There should be a death penalty for acid attacks.
