Islamabad's deputy commissioner says infants to be given up for adoption

ISLAMABAD: There is a saying that there is no blessing likes of children, however, parents in Islamabad left behind newborn twin boys at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) on Wednesday.

Authorities said that the unidentified twins will now be given up for adoption.

Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Hamza Shafqaat told The Express Tribune that couples who want to adopt the baby boys should contact his office in Sector G-11/4.

He said prospective families will go through a rigorous vetting process to see if they can raise the children.

This is not the first time infants have been left at a hospital in the federal capital as two months ago two infants were found from a hospital in the city.

Forty-two families came forward to adopt the children. They were given to two families to raise.
