According to details obtained by The Express Tribune, a case has been registered under sections 302 and 334 of the Pakistan Penal Code on the complaint of the deceased’s father, Afzal. Speaking to the media, Lawyer Osama Khawar said that after two hours of talks with the police, a case has been registered against the SHO Mahmood Khan, SI Rana Shafqat, ASI Matloob and other officials. “The policemen are involved in the murder of the man, which is why the registration of the FIR was delayed for 40 hours.”
Reportedly, the accused Salahuddin was mentally challenged and the police brutally tortured him, which resulted in his death.
A relative of the deceased said that the police had the accused’s post-mortem conducted without informing the family, which is a crime. Later, the police confirmed that the accused was mentally ill.
The deceased’s father said that if justice is not served, he will take action.
