PESHAWAR: After merger of the tribal districts into the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa the federal government has stopped budgets for the Peshawar Governor House, FATA Secretariat and Governor Shah Farman under austerity measures having saved Rs10 million a year.

The governor used to run the affairs of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) before merger in K-P province. Therefore, Peshawar Governor House was getting special funds from federal government. The FATA secretariat too was getting a smart chunk of resources. The provincial government was bearing the expenses of Governor House now.

Despite the fact that Governor Shah farman has convened several Jirga, session of various stakeholders in the Governor House and almost all the process of the merged districts, agreement have been taken place there, still saved handsome amount in entertainment funds.
