The model court, set up in the Karachi Central Jail, announced the verdict of the case pertaining to the murder of five people. Police failed to establish the guilt of the accused in the murder case. The court acquitted accused Rehman Bhola, who was affiliated with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, as well as Abdul Qadir and Naeem, who were arrested from the party’s headquarters, Nine-Zero. The court ordered that the accused should be released if they weren’t wanted in any other cases.
According to police, the accused opened fire at a fish vendor’s cart in the jurisdiction of Baldia Police Station on October 16, 2010. Fish vendors Akbar, Fayaz, Kashif, Saifal and Bashir were killed in the attack. The case against the accused was registered at Baldia Police Station on behalf of Akbar’s son, Alamzada.
