This was directed by the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Chief Minister Mahmood Khan while discussing issues with to Air Vice Marshal AOC Northern Air Command Abdul Moeed Khan who called on him at the Chief Minister Secretariat in Peshawar.
CM Mahmood also principally agreed to the establishment of Ski Training Schools in collaboration with the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) in Malam Jabba and Gabin Jabba along with the construction of the Kheshgi National Park in Nowshera.
For the park, Mahmood directed to convene a special meeting.
The chief minister underlined the need for establishing a PAF selection centre in Mingora, adding that efforts will be made for the establishment of a medical centre in the area.
He was told that the Saidu Sharif Airport will be set up as a joint-user airport per international standards and will be able to cater to international flights. An additional runway. along with the existing runway, will also be built to improve the standard of the airport.
Mahmood noted that the construction of the airport will not only facilitate locals but will also accelerate the promotion of tourism in the area, ultimately leading to international tourism, in turn, increasing revenue generation.
On the Ski training Schools, he was told that the school in Malam Jabba will be established on an estimated area spanning 300 Kanals. The schools will be built to feature ski competitions of international standards.
While being briefed about the Kheshgi National Park, he was told that the park will be built over 1,900 Kanals of land and that this will be the first and the largest national park of the province. The park will help generate revenue for the province.
