There has been much talk about a new serial being developed by DG ISPR, focusing on the Pakistani military and the lives of those who are a part of it. Rumour had it that the show was to be released on Independence Day this year.

That didn’t happen. But Osman Khalid Butt has reignited the buzz this week and left us all wondering if a revamped version of the iconic 90s military drama Alpha Bravo Charlie really is in the works.

The actor took to social media on Wednesday and shared a picture of himself with fellow actors Ahad Raza Mir and Wahaj Ali standing outside Lawrence College in uniforms. There is tower behind them with the words ‘Never Give In’ written on it. Butt captioned the picture with a simple “SSG.”

Banning an actor for his opinion set a dangerous precedent: Osman Khalid Butt

Could this be another hint at a possible remake of Alpha Bravo Charlie? Seems like it. Then there was the tweet from the DG to Mir on his engagement to Sajal Aly, wherein he all but exposed the latter’s role as Captain Saad in the upcoming serial.

Both Butt and Mir, with their sound acting skills, have the potential to do justice to the roles of Faraz (the real Alpha male) and the simple-minded Gulsher from the original Alpha Bravo Charlie. Ali has also made a name for himself when it comes to providing comic relief in serious situations, similar to those that were seen in the show back then.

Guess we will just have to wait and see what all the hullabaloo is about.
