At 12 noon sharp, sirens rang out across Pakistan followed by the broadcasting of the national anthems of both Pakistan and Kashmir, people all over Pakistan protested New Delhi’s brutalities in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK) by halting traffic in solidarity with the rallies.

US worried over restrictions, detentions in IOK

With more than 181,000 tweets globally, #KashmirHour was how the peaceful protest also continued on social media.

The idea was initiated by Imran Khan where he had stated that he would want to show the Indians that Kashmir is not alone.

People from around the world have also taken to Twitter to express their concern for those suffering in IOK and praising the idea that shows solidarity.
