CPO finalises security measures for Muharram
Says there is a dire need to maintain an atmosphere of religious harmony

The Rawalpindi police have finalised security arrangements for Muharram. In a meeting held on Sunday, the Rawalpindi City Police Officer (CPO) DIG Faisal Rana said that there is a dire need to maintain an atmosphere of religious harmony and brotherhood at all levels.
He said that Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for security7 must be followed in letter and spirit, adding that negligence will not be tolerated and strict action will be taken against anyone violating the law.
The CPO said that no one will be allowed to stand on rooftops of commercial and residential buildings located along the mourning procession routes. Senior police officers were directed to personally monitor all the main congregations, picketing and patrolling must be intensified during the dispersal of religious gatherings, the CPO said.
