Municipal bodies ignore encroachments

JHELUM: The encroachment mafia has maligned the beauty of the city while the municipal corporation has turned a blind eye to it. The municipal corporation administrator and related staff have given a free hand to the encroachment mafia. Shandar Chowk, Jada Chowk, Qabarustan Chowk, Muhammadi Chowk, Bilal Town etc have become a hub of illegal encroachments, it has become difficult for the citizens to walk. Owing to this, the incidents of quarrels and scuffles between the citizens and encroachers have become routine. The citizens have demanded Punjab chief minister, commissioner and Rawalpindi deputy commissioner (DC) to take notice of the situation.
