Talpur, a sister of the PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari, is in Adiala Jail along with Zardari for her alleged involvement in a multi-billion rupees money laundering case.
Jail sources said deputy inspector general (DIG) prison sent a letter on August 21 to Punjab Home Department seeking permission to take Talpur to Karachi in view of the Sindh Assembly speaker’s production order to attend the assembly session starting on August 22.
However, Talpur could not be sent to Karachi as the department did not reply to the DIG. Meanwhile, the jail authorities have announced separate meeting days for the siblings. Visitors would be able to meet Zardari on Mondays and Talpur on Saturdays.
