Alternative to plastic

Published: August 22, 2019

TURBAT: After the decision by the federal government to ban plastic and polythene shopping bags in the capital, the difficulties of shopkeepers and customers have increased manifold. According to a report, various markets were still found using plastic bags – including the government-controlled Sunday markets. The decision of the government is praiseworthy and even the citizens praised them. But the lack of a cheap alternative has compelled people to continuously ignore the government’s decision. So I urge the federal government to create awareness about alternative ways that can be implemented by shopkeepers and citizens so that the issue is resolved at the latest.
