FAISALABAD:
Armed men abducted a young girl over a marriage dispute and injured her father and uncle for showing resistance in Khurrianwala police station limits. Police said that Atif, a resident of Chak No 74-RB, had asked for the hand of Anam, a girl living in the locality. However, Anam’s father, Abdul Ghafoor, had refused the marriage proposal. Consequently, Atif and his accomplices barged into the girl’s home and attempted to kidnap her at gunpoint. When Abdul Ghafoor and his brother Rafique resisted, the accused opened fire injuring the men in the process. The injured were shifted to a hospital by Rescue 1122 while the accused managed to flee the scene with the girl. Police have registered a case against the accused and have opened investigations.
