Many applications submitted to the municipal committee in Khanewal, all fallen on deaf years
KHANEWAL: It is sad to see the sorry state of the drainage system in Shadman Town’s street number 6, Khanewal. I am a resident of this street. We have been suffering due to the overflowing sewage for the past one month. Many applications have been submitted to the municipal committee in Khanewal but all our pleas have fallen on deaf years. I myself went there personally but there were no officials present and all the offices were closed. After many visits I finally got in touch with an employee. He told me that favouritism and nepotism was prevalent and problems have been persisting for the past many years. Moreover, the chief administrator’s post is vacant. How does a department work without its chief? In this new Pakistan of ours, when will these petty issues remain unresolved. I want to draw the attention of higher authorities to the problem, and hope they will do the needful at the earliest.
