Apathy and neglect

Published: August 17, 2019

KARACHI: The neglect of Karachi and other urban areas of Sindh has reached an unprecedented level. This, however, does not mean the provincial government is paying attention to development in rural areas. Both rural and urban areas are being equally neglected. There are no two opinions that the government has abdicated its responsibilities. Now most urban areas present the scene of a disaster zone. There is no water, no electricity, roads are in a very bad condition, there is a severe shortage of public transport. Our people are nothing more than the proverbial stupid common man. They have an infinite capacity for endurance. Things will go deteriorating.
