The media and authorities should launch awareness campaigns to rekindle our nationalism
KARACHI: Independence Day is here and celebrations are underway. While celebrating we must consider the sacrifices and struggles of our forefathers in making this dream, Pakistan, a reality.
We have a beautiful land that we all call home. It is full of natural beauty and natural resources. People celebrate Independence Day by dressing up in green and white. They buy national flag, badges, balloons, caps to show their enthusiasm. However as celebrations come to an end, people disrespect the flag by throwing them onto roads or among the garbage. This is a shameful act.
Many people have sacrificed their lives for this independent state, where we now live peacefully. We should know better than to discard our pride like this. The media and authorities should pay attention to this matter and launch awareness campaigns to rekindle our nationalism.
