Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) Spokesperson Mohammad Faisal beckoned the Indian envoy after 38-year-old Sarfaraz Ahmad, resident of Laychayal village, was martyred in the incident.
According to the press statement issued by the Office of the Spokesperson, Indian occupation forces have continuously targeted civilian areas along the LoC and Working Boundary with artillery fire, heavy-calibre mortars, and automatic weapons.
“The deliberate targeting of civilian populated areas is indeed deplorable and contrary to human dignity, international human rights and humanitarian laws,” the statement said. “The ceasefire violations by India are a threat to regional peace and security and may lead to a strategic miscalculation."
In the press statement Islamabad urged New Dehli to respect the 2003 Ceasefire arrangement; investigate these and other incidents of ceasefire violations in letter and spirit and maintain peace on the LoC and the Working Boundary.
“The Indian side should permit [the] United Nations Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan to play its mandated role as per the UN Security Council resolutions,” the statement added.
