Twenty-nine-year-old Zahid, the resident of Orangi Town, was admitted to JPMC on August 6.
JPMC Executive Director Dr Seemi Jamali said that Zahid was admitted to the isolation ward and had been diagnosed through a test conducted at a private laboratory.
Separately, another patient of the virus, Hajji Deen, 65, who was under treatment at a private hospital, died on Friday. Earlier, Dr Jamali had said that 12 patients diagnosed with the virus have been reported in Karachi and eight of these patients have died, said Dr Jamali. With Deen’s death, the number of fatalities rises to nine.
