Police have arrested a showroom owner for allegedly assaulting a nurse and blackmailing her after recording her video.
New Town police said Yasir Altaf allegedly made false marriage promises to the victim to lure her and then raped her. The suspect then allegedly obtained large sums of money from the victim by threatening to upload her compromising videos on social media.
New Town ASP told The Express Tribune that the suspect has been arrested and will be presented in court to acquire remand for further investigation.
Battery by in-laws
A woman allegedly assaulted by her in-laws has reached out to the Kahuta Police.
The victim, Aroosa Masood, told the police that she had married Imran Rafiq 18 months ago and that they had a son named Zohaib. Ever since the first day of her marriage, Masood said her husband was living in Saudi Arabia and did not bear any expenses, leaving her at the mercy of his parents.
A few days ago, Imran along with his brothers, Asif and Nasir and their mother, Tasleem used to beat Aroosa without any reason. Tasleem punched and kicked her while Imran dragged her from her hair, tearing her clothes. Nasir snatched the victim’s son and threatened her of serious consequences.
The police have started investigations after registering a case.
Minor kidnapped
A two-year old was kidnapped from Khayaban-e-Sir Syed in remits of Pirwadhai Police Station.
Abid Awaan told the police that his son, Zohran, went outside his home and did not return. He suspected that his son had been kidnapped by an unknown suspect.
The police have registered a case and started investigation.
