A division bench comprising Justice Salahuddin Panhwar and Justice Shamsuddin Abbasi was hearing the plea. Advocate Barrister Shahid Soomro argued that police officials have been accused of killing a citizen named Asadullah in a fake police encounter. The officials of anti-car lifting cell arrested Asadullah from Manghopir last year.

The officials allegedly inflicted severe physical torture on him and threw his body in Gulshan-e-Maymar after killing him. The medical report also confirmed that he was tortured and despite that, the special court accepted the bail pleas of accused. The accused are now affecting the case.
Asadullah belonged to Shaheed Bhutto Group and was president of the party's Larkana wing. Asadullah's brother was contesting against Bilawal Bhutto from Larkana in 2018 general elections. Asadullah himself was contesting against Ghanwa Bhutto in 2013 general elections.
Court sought reply while issuing notices over the plea filed for the cancellation of bail of DSP Shehzad Ali, Inspector Muhammad Saleem and sub-inspector Waqas.

Hearing adjourned
The SHC adjourned the hearing of a plea regarding the inclusion of provincial home secretary, Kabir Kazi's name in the Exit Control List (ECL).
The hearing was adjourned for an indefinite period as the Chief Justice of the SHC is on a visit to Islamabad to attend a meeting.
Kazi, in his plea, maintained that he was facing difficulties in travelling due to his name on the ECL and requested for its removal. The interior ministry has placed his name on the ECL.
