LAHORE: The meteorological office has forecast widespread rains and wind-thunderstorm with isolated heavy rainfall at scattered places in the province including the provincial capital during the next 24 hours. Rain is also expected in Rawalpindi, Gujranwala and Lahore division while isolated heavy rainfall is expected in Dera Ghazi Khan and Bahawalpur division, the met office said. According to the synoptic situation, monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal were penetrating the upper and central parts of the country. During the past 24 hours, scattered rains occurred in Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Multan, and Dera Ghazi Khan division while the weather remained hot and humid in other parts of the province. On Thursday, the maximum temperature in the city was recorded at 36 degrees Celsius. ’
