Following that, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and Pakistan Peoples Party Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari kept raising their voice for the fundamental rights of the Kashmiri people, he added. He said that the people of Sindh completely supported the struggle of Kashmiris for the plebiscite.
Acting governor
With regards to the federal government's move to nominate deputy speaker Rehana Leghari as acting governor, Barrister Wahab termed the move a violation of the Constitution, given the presence of the speaker.
The adviser reasoned that the Constitution of Pakistan was quite clear on the issue as its Article 104 states that in the absence of the governor, the speaker of the provincial assembly would be the acting governor.
He said that someone had misguided the President regarding the nomination of the acting governor. The Constitution explicitly articulates that unless the court of law disqualifies the speaker, he can be nominated as acting Governor, he added.
Barrister Wahab said that the deputy speaker belonged to the legal profession, which is why she had herself avoided the violation of the Constitution. He added that the Sindh government, as well as the deputy speaker, had expressed their reservations over the decision.
