College admissions

Let parents and students decide where they want to get admission

LAHORE: It has been happening for years now. When I got my college admission in 1995, things were the same. What colleges do is that they announce the merit lists on different dates and fix the deadline for fee payment before the other colleges publish theirs. This way if a student has marginal merit, parents have to pay non-refundable fees twice when choosing a better option. Ironically, these colleges are quick in getting students enrolled. This makes things difficult for parents. They have to visit these colleges multiple times before cancelling an enrollment. I think the solution to this problem is: all colleges should display their lists on one date. Let parents and students decide where they want to get admission.
