Selfish politicians

Letter August 07, 2019
People should keep their homes and their surroundings in a tidy condition

ISLAMABAD: Politicians in authority are in the habit of ignoring the problems affecting their voters. So far they have done little to provide relief to those suffering in the aftermath of the recent rains. The monsoon season has set in but our politicians, both from the treasury and opposition benches, seem to be more interested in paying attention to building their own images. And the common man goes on suffering.

The recent rains have caused trouble to people in many parts of the country due to poor infrastructure. The rains, however, have also come as a blessing to the parched land of Thar, Kachho, Koshistan, Cholistan, etc. The rains have also raised the water level in many dams across the country. Our people have a tendency to keep their surroundings dirty. They do not understand the importance of cleanliness and hygiene. They throw garbage outside their homes and their neighbours’ homes. People should keep their homes and their surroundings in a tidy condition.
