War on terror

ISLAMABAD: This is with reference to Asad Munir’s article of June 7 titled ‘Pakistan – already playing its role in war on terror’. He is spot on about the achievements of Nato forces in Afghanistan. The much-trumpeted Marjah operation gave the Americans and Nato forces the village of Marjah, nothing else.

Compared to that, the Pakistan army has cleared a much larger area. As far as the threat by Hillary Clinton goes, the fact of the matter is that the US realises it does not control Afghanistan. And then there is the recent statement by a British minister who said that they were not in Afghanistan to educate people living in the 13th century. To that I would say, perhaps the minister should check if anybody in Afghanistan asked Britain or America to come and educate the local population.
